Sri Lanka is an island nation south of India in the Indian Ocean. It's diverse landscapes range from rain-forest and arid plains to highlands and sandy beaches. Famed for its endless beaches, timeless ruins, welcoming people, cheap prices and famous tea all of these are what makes Sri Lanka a must for your next adventure.

Sri Lanka is home to more than 5,800 wild elephants and has the biggest concentration of leopards in the world, you can see them all at Yala national park along with sloth bears and buffalo. A totally different and unique experience to safaris in Africa.

In Kalpitiya you can dive with blue whales or watch spinner dolphins leap all around.

You cannot go to Sri Lanka without doing the railway journey between Kandy and Ella, perhaps one of the most scenic rail routes in the world its definitely worth doing.

Sri Lanka is famous for its Ceylon tea. Walk past lush green tea plantations on a four-hour trek up to Ella Rock for amazing views.

Sri Lanka is known for its friendly locals and has a much slower pace of life than other popular destinations in Asia, making it a great place to introduce your family to Asia and relax while exploring.

While in Sri Lanka you must add Galle to your list of expeditions. This historic city is perfect to explore on foot. Galle is an exotic old trading port with impressive dutch-colonial buildings, ancient mosques and grand mansions. While exploring its lanes you will come across stylish cafes, boutiques and impeccable hotels.

We recommend doing a mix of beach and rain-forest/national park adventures to truly experience the beauty Sri Lanka has to offer. Please also make sure you visit ethical elephant sanctuaries it is so important to make sure these beautiful animals are well looked after and not just used as an experience for a photo to share with your friends.
