October. The cold may be creeping in and the lure of iPad's and television is increasing by the minute! But what better way to get out the house and treat the family this October than a fun day out that everyone can enjoy! Here we have summarised some of our favourite events coming up over the next few weeks perfect to keep the kids busy this month! 

 1. Norfolk Harfest 2018 

Norfolk HarFest is a free family event taking place on Saturday 6th October in Norwich City Centre, bringing the farm to the city and celebrating all things harvest. Harfest takes place in Norwich cathedral cloisters, you can expect to find lots of activities and farming displays as well as live music, there will be plenty of fun for the whole family! Visitors will have the chance to taste and buy from the farmers market from a large array of Norfolk artisan producers. 2. Porkstock 2018

Porkstock is a free event that takes place at the Royal Norfolk Showground on Saturday October 13th. Porkstock is all about celebrating Norfolk food and drink, family fun and raising as much money as possible for their chosen charity Nelson's Journey.The daytime festival will have plenty of activities for the kids, food demonstrations and live music. The daytime festival is free but there is a charge of £2 parking. For the grown ups they also have an evening knees up, tickets are £20 pp, there will be hot food, plenty of drinks and live music. 3. The Glorious Glowing Lantern Parade-BeWILDerwood 

BeWILDerwood is a must for all ages! You are guaranteed a fun day out! The glorious Glowing Lantern Parade takes place between 13th October-31st October. Spend the day exploring the magical woodland, run wild through the tree house and zip-wires. Make sure you stay for dusk as that's when the magic happens!! See all the woodland inhabitants come to celebrate the Glorious Glowing Lantern Parade! 4. Could it be magic? at Norwich Castle

Norwich castle have an array of events on from 18th October-27th October. Make your own healing potions and patronus charms, and find out about all the local witchcraft. Create your own spells with Spellbinding Skies and on Friday 26th October attend the Silent Magic Disco which is sure to be a hit with all ages! For tickets and more information click here. 

5. Halloween Spooktacular- Hippodrome Circus

The Halloween Spooktacular at the Hippodrome Circus in Great Yarmouth is sure to be a hit with the whole family. Shows start on 18th October and run until 31st October. The all new show will see Jack Jay and comedy partner Johnny Mac return back once again on a perilous night at the Haunted Museum. There will be all manner of Ghosts, Ghouls monsters and crazy goings on! Joining them will be world class circus performers performing breathtaking stunts in the specially created museum set which will bring the action closer than ever, so prepare to be on the edge of your seat, with dancers, aerialists, acrobats, special effects and much more this will be a fantastic way to celebrate the spooky week of Halloween.For tickets and more information click here

 6. Halloween at Holkham Hall 

From 25th October-28th October experience Holkham's Halloween Whodunnit, a murder mystery adventure for the whole family. Expect trails and quizzes, spooky sports, pumpkin carving and crafts and even decorate your own Halloween cookie! Perfect for the whole family! For tickets and more information click here. 

 

7. Open Sailing Day at Whitlingham Adventure

 

Whitlingham adventure have a whole host of activities to keep your kids busy this October! From sail and raft building, paddle boarding, canoeing and archery there's plenty to choose from! On Sunday 28th October they have a special Halloween Adventure Festival. Day tickets include canoe hire, lantern building, a sailing trip plus much more! 8. WildTots! Forest Feasts at GROWILD

 Throughout October GROWILD, based in Norwich have Forest Feast events for ages 5+ where children have the chance to learn about local, seasonal produce and encourage learning with scavenger hunts, planting, growing and outdoor cooking skills. Children will get the chance to experience outdoor food prep, fire building, bush craft, plus cook their own seasonal treats. You are able to book one of sessions or block book all six sessions.
